by Alexandra J. | 2019-07-18 | Turkey

Situated in south-west Turkey, Dalyan is now becoming a well-known tourist destination for many travelers. Little Dalyan attracts many tourists throughout the whole year with its cozy restaurants, lively bars, stunning beaches, cheerful streets… yet still keeps its original sleepy riverside character.

Set on the Dalyan banks, this little town has become a tranquil holiday choice. An ideal setting for all of you who want to head on a boat cruise on the Dalyan river to visit the stunning beaches of Iztuzu and enjoy the unique, green scenery. Mild weather conditions, plenty of history and lots of holiday activities is what keeps visitors coming back to Dalyan each year.

Dalyan is somewhat in the Aegean sea, so you might assume that there is not much cooling breeze during the summer. This means that Dalyan weather may be hotter compared to the rest seaside nearby resorts. If you’ve been wondering what’s the Dalyan weather like during the four seasons, we’ve decided to dive further into each season.

Dalyan Weather in Winter

Thanks to the warm Mediterranean climate, Dalyan is still a good place to visit during winter. Daily temperatures stay much above freezing point. December, January, and February have afternoon temperatures that vary between 13°C and 15°C. January may be considered the coldest month, so we would advise you to bring a jacket.

The lowest temperature during the night may reach between 4-6°C. Dalyan weather in December can be very wet since half of the days underlie significant rainfall. So, if you are planning to visit during this month, make sure to check the weather forecast as you might need some rain gear. However, the winter period is still not suitable for swimming in the sea. The average sea temperature can reach between 16-18°C, which is still not warm enough to swim.

Dalyan Weather in Spring

Spring months March, April, and May are starting to warm up. The temperatures are quite warm and Dalyan weather during these months the conditions are fairly dry. So, spring might be the best time to visit Dalyan if you want to avoid the huge crash of tourists that are typical for the summer months. Spring rainfall is slightly lower than the winter period.

Afternoon temperatures may vary between 17°C to 26°C whereas night temperatures can climb from  6°C to 13°C. Sea temperatures are slightly cooler during early spring, but they go up during the last month of spring. Even though it’s still not warm enough for swimming, you can still enjoy relaxing on the beach and soak up some sun. Dalyan weather is perfect for exploring the region during this period.

Dalyan Weather in Summer

The summer period is ideal for those visitors who want to come to Dalyan to enjoy the warm land and sea temperatures, and of course dry weather. Bear in mind that since summer is the high season, accommodation rates and airfares can significantly vary compared to the less popular months. This also means larger crowds.

Summer months June, July, and August have an average temperature between 24°C and 27°C. However, daily temperatures may climb up between 31°C to 34°. Overnight temperatures reach between 17°C and 20°C. Rainfall is almost nonexistent, so don’t worry- you’ll get to enjoy 13-14 hours of sunshine each day.
